Who are we?

The Medinah Highlanders is a parading great highland pipe and drum band affliated with the Medinah Shrine Temple. The band became an official Shrine marching unit in 1970 and it has been active in supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children since its inception. Our unit represents the Shrine in the community by performing in parades, competitions, concerts, weddings, and other events. We wear the Ancient MacMillan Clan tartan.

Band practice takes place every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Medinah Center in Addison, Illinois. The first hour is reserved for individual pipe and drum instruction. The final hour is dedicated to full band rehearsal.

We offer free lessons to any dedicated individual interested in learning the bagpipes or Highland drum. If you would like information on receiving lessons, booking a performance, or becoming a Highlander, please contact our Chief at stoopers@att.net
